Kevin’s North Area Transmission and Auto came to iLL FX Designs in a need of updating their promotional material that would be handed out to the public and fleet-sized companies. The client gave us full control in the direction of the postcard that would tailor a more “clean & professional” look that would be attractive enough for all target markets. Old promotional material was given to us for review and layout placement. The use of a photograph of a “man confused or troubled on his auto problem” signified the reason, “hey, if you don’t know what you’re doing why not take it to a professional!” Kevin’s North Area Transmission and Auto provides many services that has been highlighted so consumers and clients would know that there is more than just transmission work that can be provided. We look forward in assisting in future projects with the company.

As a successful client from our web design service, All Seasons Mulch Market and Landscape Supply looked into our direct mail marketing package. Our client brought us a draft that they created in the past. We were asked to update the draft to include our style and display the message of an “All Season” store for landscaping needs. Our first assignment was to create the mailer to include the chosen stock photography that was suggested and convey a simple message on the front. “Free Money” became a concept from the client. The back needed to tell the message that it was more affordable to buy in bulk than in most stores. There were two coupons added to the back as well for the recipients to use when they received the mailer. The next task was to compile a list of general consumers that were in a specific area of Charleston. We were able to provide a list of specific interests and background for our client at an affordable price. The final task was to get the mailer printed and mailed out which we were able to provide the job also.

Local Charleston, SC DJ & producer, DJ C-Double, requested a fresh design to take a Miami, FL conference. The recommendation was the use of bright colors. With a little imagination, a colorful marketing piece was created embracing a lifestyle of an individual. The concept was to use a double side business card and display two entities the person was attached to. Musical elements like turntables and speakers were incorporated on one side. The “MIA-style” was focused on for the idea with glowing colors. The urban feel came from the splatter effects and shapes for a more young appealing look. The flip side had to display the dj’s second entity in a more simple level. An idea occurred to add a patterned element that dealt with the word “audio”. Everything was wrapped up in time and delivered for the dj’s promotional use. A nice piece to add to the portfolio.

Along with website design and image identity, Resource Partners of Charleston requested our service of business card design. Making sure we kept a match with the overall look we used a pattern and applied it lightly. The pattern became some sort of visual sense of prestige along with the use of blue. It was a simple approach to give a completed look and updated information among the additional services. Our client not only enjoyed the design services provided, but having an additional source of printing marketing materials was a plus. As a beginning client in the freelance careers, the business card is displayed today to show how we like to keep our relations with our clients, and to help them know we are growing along with them.

RideSafely.com is the global leader in re-marketing technology for auto auctions. Our client is based in the Pennsylvania state, and has been in business for many years auctioning thousands of salvaged vehicles to the public. RideSafely has done numerous print marketing advertisements with us included these postcards and banner displays (displays were about 8ft tall). The direct mail piece project needed to give an image of promoting salvaged autos as a leading future market. A great picture taken by Kevin Russ was used and fitted the theme perfectly. The banners did not display salvaged autos, but showcased beautiful machines to give an idea of what can result of buying a salvaged vehicle. The two promotional items pleased the eyes of the client which continued for a future relationship. The design process for the project was a success and enjoyable.

Nolas Salon is a talented hair salon located in Summerville, SC. The client has numerous projects done by us including their website, www.nolassalon.net. This particular project was creation of business cards for their shop. “Hotness” was the idea given to accomplish the project at hand. After careful consideration, we brought in the element of fire to give it that unique touch. Metal was another element that the shop has embraced and wanted to incorporate. The backside needed an area to write additional information in case they were used as appointment setters. The ability to combine these features were a task, but it was accomplished. Our client was extremely happy with all of the results we have provided for them, and continue to be our client for any additional work.

The organization’s focus has been providing a stop-gap solution for backed up engineering projects and to provide teams of people that are project focused. TryBPO’s focus was on teamwork and problem solving stems from deep seated beliefs. Our focus was to compliment their brand with a corporate touch. The objective was to include a portion of the world to project a feeling of a company doing business worldwide. The globe icon used softer colors of blues and greens to give the clients a relaxing feeling. Trust needed to be established, and we believe it was communicated well with the color choice. The end product amazed the client, and we appreciate continuing working with them.

.357 Style Entertainment, is a music label/brand headed by DJ Skitch of Charleston, SC. As an old-time friend of ours, we were pleased to accommodate our services in branding of his group’s entity. With careful thinking and planning, an urban approach was taken to the design and development. Adding such things as splatters and floral type graphics complimented the logo in whole even if it didn’t make it a simple design. The image was to detail a grittiness feel. Bold outlines were used to emphasize the the words, and separate the other details. A hand drawn three point crown was used to finish the design and focus on urban royalty. The finished product was something to admire, and our friend’s response was simply “just what he needed”!

Resource Partners, our client from our web project, was in need of numerous services including brand development. At the time there was really no main image branded for the company. We stepped in and created a logo that gave them the professional stance that they requested. The use of a serif font was suggested and used to give the appearance of sophisticated superiority. At first medical like symbols were used as concepts, but never ended up making the cut. The final concept included the combination of the first letters of each word to form a “partnership” to give that representation of the company’s name. The client was not only satisfied with the development of their new site, but were pleased with the new company brand. They immediately proceeded with the service of business card design.

Butter Dev is the creation of a Java Web Developer, David Marginian, from Colorado. He has developed web and server applications for large e-commerce companies, fortune 500 companies, and the USAF. The client actual sent us a message and described the identity he was already branded with. In fact the name originated from a childhood past, and has stuck ever since. The general idea for the logo design was to create an icon of cutting a stick of butter and 1’s and 0’s appearing from the slice. The 1’s and 0’s was to reference computer programming (ever see the movie, The Matrix?). The main use of colors were of course yellow, and bits of orange. After a few attempts the client got what he wanted and has proudly displayed his brand on his developer blog website.
